NorthSearch is a search engine. It indexes and links to publicly available third-party websites; it does not host the content found at those destinations. If you believe a search result on NorthSearch links to material that infringes your copyright, you may request removal of that result from our index.

How to file a notice

Send a notice to [email protected] that includes:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• The exact NorthSearch search-result URL (or search query and result) linking to the allegedly infringing material.
• Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable the corresponding entry from our search index. Note that this removes the result from NorthSearch only; it does not remove the content from the third-party site itself, since NorthSearch does not host it.

Counter-notice

If you believe a result was removed in error, you may contact us at the same address to request reinstatement, including an explanation of why the removal was mistaken.
